Shocking Twist Revealed on Last Night''s Bachelor Finale |

A rose by any other name will have to smell as sweet for Bachelor finalist Melissa Rycroft. After being given the final rose and a 3.1-carat engagement ring by Jason Mesnick on last night season finale of The Bachelor, Jason shocked audiences by breaking things off only six weeks later in a taped After the Final Rose special to take another crack at his relationship with second runner up and rejected finalist, Molly Malaney.
After introducing both of the ladies to his family and four-year-old son Ty, Jason received a shock of his own in the form of a surprise visit from former Bachelorette DeAnna Pappas who tells him she made a mistake when she rejected his proposal in favor of pro snowboarder Jesse Csincsak. Though she tells Mesnick I could see myself having a relationship with you, he turns her down explaining that he’s fallen hard for both Melissa and Molly
At the final rose ceremony, Mesnick rejects a visibly shocked Malaney who responds by telling him, I think you’ve made a mistake, a big one. The single dad then gets down on bended knee to propose to Rycroft, asking her to make me the happiest man by agreeing to marry him. The show cuts out with the happy couple jumping into the pool.
However six weeks later, at the After the Final Rose special, a tearful Bachelor tells host Chris Harrison that the chemistry is completely different with him and Melissa (this is no surprise given the longevity and track record of 98% of all other Bachelor/Bachelorette couples) and that he hasn’t been able to stop thinking of Molly. He then tells his blindsided and angry Melissa, We’re not right for each other. After breaking things off with his fiancé, Mesnick then asks Malaney for another shot, admitting that has still in love with her. Her response? I think we can see where things go.
